Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam is a Hindi biographical courtroom drama starring Rajkummar Rao as renowned public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam. Directed by Avinash Arun and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, Prahaar explores the legal battles and pursuit of justice surrounding some of India’s most significant criminal cases. The film released in cinemas on 16 October 2026.
Prahaar Movie: Story and Plot
The story of Prahaar centres on Ujjwal Nikam and his work as a public prosecutor in high-profile criminal cases. A major focus is the courtroom battle following the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, including the prosecution of Ajmal Kasab. The film also revisits cases connected to the 1993 Bombay blasts.
Rather than focusing only on the attacks, Prahaar highlights the investigation, courtroom arguments, public pressure and responsibility involved in seeking justice.
