The story follows a ruthless Japanese salaryman who is reincarnated as Tanya Degurechaff, a young girl in a world resembling early twentieth-century Europe. Before reincarnation, the salaryman challenges a mysterious supernatural being known as Being X, who claims to represent God.
Tanya retains her memories, intelligence, and ambition. Determined to secure a comfortable life and avoid danger, she joins the Empire’s military and becomes a powerful mage. However, her strategic brilliance repeatedly places her at the centre of increasingly brutal wars.
Saga of Tanya the Evil explores military tactics, political conflict, faith, survival, and the consequences of trying to outsmart a supernatural force. Its unusual protagonist and combination of magic with military technology make it different from conventional isekai anime.
